1. Introduction

Welcome to Mujtahid (مُجتهد), a student-discount platform designed to help eligible students in Lebanon discover discounts, promotions and special offers from participating businesses.

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mujtahid website, future mobile applications and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

“Mujtahid,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the Platform. “You” and “your” refer to any person accessing or using the Platform.

By using Mujtahid, you agree to these Terms and the applicable Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Purpose of the Platform

Mujtahid allows eligible students to discover discounts and offers from participating independent businesses.

Categories may include:

• Food, cafés and restaurants.
• Books, stationery and school supplies.
• Technology and accessories.
• Fashion and lifestyle.
• Sports, entertainment and activities.
• Other student-related products and services.

Mujtahid primarily facilitates the discovery of offers. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, it does not directly sell the products or services offered by participating businesses.

3. Eligibility and Minimum Age

Mujtahid is exclusively intended for students aged 13 or older. Users must have reached their 13th birthday and must meet the applicable student eligibility requirements.

Users under the age of 13 are not permitted to create or maintain a Mujtahid account.

Meeting the minimum age requirement does not automatically qualify someone for an account. Users must also genuinely meet the applicable student eligibility criteria.

By registering, you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years old.
• You are a genuine student who meets Mujtahid's eligibility requirements.
• The information you provide is accurate and not misleading.
• You will update relevant information if it becomes inaccurate.

Mujtahid may require reasonable evidence of student status before approving or continuing an account. Additional parental or guardian consent may be required where applicable law requires it.

We reserve the right to refuse registration or restrict access if a user does not meet these requirements.

4. Student Verification and False Claims

Mujtahid may introduce a student-verification process to ensure that discounts are reserved for eligible students.

Users must not:

• Falsely claim to be students.
• Provide fake, altered or misleading student documents.
• Use another person's student identity or verification information.
• Create multiple accounts to bypass eligibility restrictions.
• Attempt to manipulate or bypass the verification process.

If Mujtahid determines that a user has falsely claimed to be a student or deliberately submitted fraudulent verification information, we may suspend or permanently terminate that user's account.

We may also revoke access to student-only offers, reject future registration attempts and take further action where appropriate and lawful.

Where reasonably possible, we may request clarification or additional evidence before making a final decision. We reserve the right to take immediate action where necessary to prevent fraud, abuse or security risks.

Any verification information collected will be handled according to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

5. Account Security and Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and taking reasonable steps to protect your account.

You must notify Mujtahid if you become aware of unauthorized access to your account.

You must not sell, rent, transfer or share your account in a way that enables another person to obtain benefits they are not entitled to receive.

Mujtahid may restrict or suspend accounts where necessary to investigate suspected fraud, unauthorized access or violations of these Terms.

6. Student Offers and Discounts

Offers are provided by participating independent businesses (“Merchants”).

Each offer may have specific conditions, including:

• Expiration dates and availability.
• Minimum purchase requirements.
• Eligible products, services and locations.
• Redemption limits.
• Exclusions and additional charges.
• Restrictions on combining offers.

Users must review the applicable conditions before redeeming an offer.

Mujtahid does not guarantee that every offer will remain available at all times. Offers may change or expire due to business decisions, stock limitations, technical issues or other circumstances.

We may update, suspend or remove offers when necessary, subject to applicable law and any existing commitments.

7. Merchant Responsibilities

Merchants are independent businesses and are responsible for their products, services and advertised offers.

Each Merchant is responsible for:

• Providing accurate offer information.
• Honouring valid discounts according to the published conditions.
• Complying with applicable laws and regulations.
• Handling product quality, customer service, refunds, returns and complaints.
• Obtaining the licences and permissions required to operate.
• Ensuring that promotional materials and trademarks are used with authorization.

Mujtahid may remove a Merchant or offer if we reasonably suspect fraud, misleading advertising or a violation of these Terms.

Listing a Merchant does not constitute a guarantee of its quality, reliability or conduct.

8. Purchases, Payments and Refunds

Unless a feature expressly states otherwise, Mujtahid facilitates offer discovery rather than directly processing purchases.

Transactions are generally conducted between users and Merchants. Merchants are responsible for their own payment, delivery, cancellation, refund and return procedures, subject to applicable law.

If Mujtahid introduces paid memberships, subscriptions or other paid features, the applicable prices and payment conditions will be disclosed before users are required to pay.

9. Acceptable Use

Users must use Mujtahid lawfully and responsibly.

You must not:

• Engage in fraud or deceptive activities.
• Attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts.
• Introduce malware or harmful code.
• Interfere with Platform security or availability.
• Collect or scrape information without authorization.
• Copy or commercially exploit protected Platform content without permission.
• Harass, threaten or abuse other users or Merchants.
• Exploit technical vulnerabilities to obtain unauthorized discounts.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with Mujtahid.

Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, suspension or permanent termination.

10. Intellectual Property

The Mujtahid name, logo, branding, original website design, software and original content are owned by Mujtahid or used with permission, as applicable.

Users may access the Platform for its intended personal purposes. Unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, commercial exploitation or modification of protected materials is prohibited unless permitted by law or authorized by the relevant rights holder.

Merchant names, logos and third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.

11. Privacy and Data Protection

Mujtahid may collect and process information necessary to operate accounts, verify eligibility, respond to enquiries and improve the Platform.

The types of information collected, purposes of processing, retention practices, third-party disclosures and applicable user rights will be explained in the Privacy Policy.

Users should provide only accurate information that they are authorized to submit and should not upload unnecessary sensitive information.

Data security and limitation of responsibility

Mujtahid will take reasonable steps appropriate to the Platform's operations to protect personal information and reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, misuse or disclosure.

However, no website, database or online service can guarantee absolute security. Third-party infrastructure, cyberattacks, unauthorized actions, technical failures and other circumstances may create risks beyond a platform operator's reasonable control.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Mujtahid is not responsible for harm arising from circumstances genuinely beyond its reasonable control, including third-party security incidents, provided that this limitation does not exclude responsibility for Mujtahid's own acts or omissions where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory data-protection obligations or rights available to users under applicable law.

Mujtahid will handle data incidents in accordance with applicable legal requirements. We do not guarantee immediate deletion of information unless the relevant deletion process exists and the applicable legal requirements permit it.

12. Third-Party Services

The Platform may link to third-party websites, Merchant pages or external services.

Mujtahid does not control all third-party systems or their independent privacy practices. Users should review the applicable terms and privacy policies before using those services.

13. Platform Availability and Changes

Mujtahid is under development. Features, offers, eligibility rules and services may change over time.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that the Platform will always be free from errors or technical problems.

We may temporarily suspend or discontinue features for maintenance, security, operational or other legitimate reasons, subject to applicable law and existing contractual commitments.

14. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Mujtahid does not guarantee that all Platform information will always be accurate, complete or current.

Mujtahid is not the provider of a Merchant's products or services and does not guarantee the Merchant's performance.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including applicable consumer-protection and data-protection obligations.

Subject to those restrictions, Mujtahid will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses where the law permits such a limitation.

15. Suspension and Termination

Mujtahid may suspend, restrict or terminate accounts for reasons including:

• Falsely claiming student status.
• Providing fraudulent verification documents.
• Being under the minimum permitted age.
• Fraudulent or abusive activity.
• Material violations of these Terms.
• Security risks or unlawful conduct.

Depending on the circumstances, termination may be temporary or permanent.

Where appropriate and legally permitted, users may be given notice and an opportunity to clarify the situation.

Account termination does not automatically erase personal information. Data deletion and retention will be handled according to the Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Platform, its features or applicable legal requirements.

The latest version will be published on the Mujtahid website with its revision date. Where required, we will provide appropriate notice or obtain consent before changes take effect.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

Mujtahid is initially intended to serve students in Lebanon. The governing law and dispute-resolution provisions will be finalized once the operating entity and its place of establishment have been confirmed.

Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory rights or legal protections available to users.

19. Final Provisions

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

These Terms operate alongside the Privacy Policy and any separate agreements applicable to participating Merchants.

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment relationship or agency relationship unless expressly agreed in writing.
